Photographing a Chicago Museum Campus Engagement Session
Spring is a time of new beginnings, and what better way to celebrate that than with an engagement session! Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing Jenny & David on Chicago's Museum Campus. The weather really turned in our favor, and it was a perfect warm sunny day.
From the moment I met the couple, it was clear that they were a lot of fun to be around. My first goal is always to make them feel comfortable and allow them to be themselves during the shoot. The couple was relaxed and at ease, which allowed us to capture some truly beautiful moments.
We began the session on the steps of the Shedd Aquarium, where David had proposed to Jenny. I really enjoy involving some part of the couple’s love story in the photos. They were excited to relive that moment, and it made for some truly touching and intimate photographs.
From there, we made our way to the Field Museum gardens and front steps, where the light was simply stunning. We had some amazing natural light to work with, and the colors of the garden really popped against the couple's outfits. I found out later these are some of the couple favorite images!
Afterward, we headed down to the lakefront, where we were able to capture photos of the couple against the city skyline. It was the perfect way to end the session, capturing the couple against the backdrop of the city they call home.
Overall, it was a fantastic engagement session, and we are so grateful to have been a part of it. I was thrilled to have been able to capture these special moments for the couple and look forward to their wedding day. Thank you to David and Jenny for allowing us to be a part of your story, and congratulations on your engagement!
P.S. A big thank you to Giovanna from Wedicity Wedding Day Detailing for introducing me to the couple!
