If I’m going to tell your story, you should know mine

My love for photography started early. I learned from my dad, who learned from his dad — a commercial photographer back in the 1940s and ’50s. I grew up taking road trips out west with my family, photographing wildlife and landscapes with my father’s old camera. That early curiosity turned into a passion for storytelling, which led me to study journalism and work as a newspaper photographer here in the Chicago area.

As a photojournalist, my job was to authentically document the scene, visually tell a story and attempt to make the audience feel like they were there.

Wedding days are no different.

I found the same storytelling approach I used as a journalist translated beautifully to capturing a wedding. The emotions were real, the stakes were personal, and the images mattered deeply.

Today, I bring that same curiosity and calm presence to every wedding I photograph. I get to know my couples, learn what’s most important to them, and help them feel relaxed and fully themselves in front of the camera. I’ll guide you when needed, blend in when it counts, and keep things running smoothly so you can enjoy every moment.

At the end of the day, my goal is simple: to create a space where you feel seen — and images that help you relive it all, forever.

When I’m not taking photos,

you might find me…

being a dad to two little boys

fixing up an old house with my wife

playing guitar in a hillbilly country band

skiing with family out West

burning wood, inside or out

golfing (Ask me about playing all 63 chicago holes in one day!)

enjoying a craft beer…the darker the better
