Photographing a Wildman BT wedding
On a sunny summer day in Chicago, I had the honor of photographing Anne and Eric's wedding. The day started at the couple's home in Ukrainian Village, where the bride was getting ready with her sisters. I love when couples start the day at home, as it allows me to involve their space in their wedding day story. Anne's family was so much fun to photograph, and the first look with her father was a particularly touching moment.
Once everyone was ready, we hopped on a trolley and headed to St. Joseph Catholic Church on the near north side for the ceremony. It was perfect, with lots of funny and sweet moments between the couple and their families. After taking family photos at the altar, we all headed to the Lincoln Park Nature Boardwalk for photos of the wedding party. This location offered a variety of backdrops, from the city skyline, to the pond, to the native wildflowers and prairie grasses. This spot really has it all, and I had a blast running around with the couple and making images.
The reception was held at Wildman BT, a newer wedding venue in Chicago with a modern, industrial look. I was impressed by the open floor plan that allowed couples to customize the flow of their event. Anne & Eric's first dance, and dances with their parents, were wonderful to photograph, with lots of funny and emotional moments. Once the dance floor opened, it was clear that their guests knew how to party!
Overall, it was an amazing day filled with beautiful moments that I had the privilege to capture. From the bride getting ready at home to the reception at Wildman BT, it truly was a fun story to tell. Congratulations to Anne and Eric, and thank you for allowing me to document your special day!
