Photographing a Wicker Park Chicago engagement session
I've been meaning to feature these two stylish love-birds for sometime now. Eileen & Lee truly brought their own unique personal aesthetic to their engagement session, so creatively they were a joy to photograph. To be honest, I need more motorcycles in my photos. I'm not nearly cool enough to ride one, but it worked brilliantly for them. We started off the session in Wicker Park at their favorite bar / old-school Italian restaurant - Club Lucky. I cannot recommend this place more if you haven't been. The quite street and retro bar (along with a glass of prosecco) was the perfect start. We then headed downtown for a completely different backdrop, and other favorite spot for the couple, the Women's Board Staircase at the Art Institute. To answer the question of whether or not you can photograph inside the AIC... the answer is yes! No flash or reflectors, don't get in anyone's way, and keep a low profile. Thank you again to Eileen & Lee for being awesome, and I'm looking forward to their wedding in Austin this fall!
P.S. I also just found out the photo above was recognized by the Wedding Photojournalist Association!
