This engagement session is one of my favorites from last summer. I'm posting now because Laura & Mike's wedding is coming up this Saturday! I'm truly looking forward to documenting their event at The Thompson Chicago.
I talk about this quite a bit, but for all of my engagement sessions, I truly want to hear the client's ideas about what locations they want to go to. I'm always interested in creating photos that have personal meaning for the couple. In Laura & Mike's case, we started of at Volo in Roscoe Village. An outstanding wine bar in the neighborhood, it's where the couple had their first date, and later decided to commit to on another. I want to take a quick second to thank the management for allowing us to create some great images just before opening!
After spending some more time along the tree-lined streets of Roscoe, we decide to take the Brown Line downtown. With the sun starting to get low in the sky, the station itself made for a spectacular location. From there the couple wanted some classic images around the Chicago Theater. If anyone is planning a wedding downtown, this is a great spot for photos. There are so many options and backdrops. We then finished up near Ohio Street Beach at dusk. Overall the light and weather were perfect, Laura & Mike were wonderful in the front of the camera, and I can't wait to photograph them again on Saturday!
