Robin & Scott's wedding was my first for 2016, and an outstanding event to start off the season. The couple has a great chemistry together, and more than anything else, simply wanted to get married, see their family & friends, and have fun. Looking back on this wedding, we got access to some truly cool indoor locations. Preparation photos and the first-look took place at the Sofitel Chicago, a stylish hotel near Water Tower Place. The staff was extremely gracious to let us use the un-opened restaurant/bar area. From there we headed off to The Berkshire Room inside the Acme Hotel. Robin really made this happen by calling ahead, and asking the management to allow us in before opening that day. I had never been before, and but now I want go back to sample one of their house-made cocktails. The interior is such an interesting blend of modern lines with vintage accents. Really a lot of fun to photograph inside. Before arriving at Kendall College, we made one last stop at a decommissioned railway turned walking bridge, that runs from North Avenue to Goose Island. This is a great spot for a classic Chicago historic bridge backdrop, but without negotiating with traffic. Kendall College, the ceremony & reception site, was also new to me. The cuisine is created by the culinary school's staff and students, and the fourth floor space offers some amazing views of the Chicago river. I want to thank Robin & Scott for helping me start off my wedding season on such a high note!
P.S. Having Superdawg delivered as the late night snack was genius!
