Humboldt Park Engagement Session - Kacie & Varun

I truly had a wonderful time photographing Kacie & Varun's engagement session in Humboldt Park.  When it comes to choosing locations for the shoot, my advice to all couples I work with, is to choose places that have significance to them.  Case in point, the above photo is literally taken at the very spot of their first date (the California Clipper Lounge, a fantastic establishment).  They also live together in the Humboldt Park neighborhood, so we started at the boathouse in the park itself.  Humboldt is the second largest park in the city (right behind Lincoln Park), and offers both natural and architectural backdrops.  We then stopped by one of their favorites pieces of street art, before arriving at the Clipper.  I cannot thank the management and staff enough for allowing us early access.  Simply awesome to have the place to ourselves.  Truly looking forward Kacie & Varun's wedding in September!
