About the couple
Shelly & Josh were an incredible couple to work with and photograph. First… you should check out their engagement photos here. We had a blast running around Lincoln Park.
Photographing a Glessner House Chicago Wedding
Their wedding was held at one of the more unique venues I’ve photographed…. The Glessner House. It’s an historic gilded era mansion in the South Loop. One of the oldest buildings in the city, it actually survived the Chicago fire. The home, both inside and out, is an immaculate backdrop for photos. I will say it was a particularly hectic wedding day, namely due to the threat of rain, but everything worked out in the best way possible. With two-hours until the ceremony, the skies cleared up and the ceremony was held next door at the Chicago Women’s Park. I was so happy for the couple, since this was something they truly wanted. The wedding itself was beautiful and heartfelt, and we were even able to get a huge group photo of all their guests on the steps of the Clarke House Museum.
The wedding reception in one word….party. An overabundance of great energy. The couple is originally from Wisconsin, so the brandy old fashions were flowing. I gotta give a shout as well to the band Random Maxx, for kicking out the classic 90’s jams. Lastly, a surprise from the groom, the couple left that evening in a 1960’s era Rolls Royce.
I cannot thank Shelly & Josh enough for making me a part of their wedding day, and I wish them the very best!
