Claudia & Erik were a referral from, and I kid you not, a bride from the first year I photographed weddings. It was great to catch up with our mutual friend Jaclyn, and talk about how much has changed in 12 years. To give some perspective, I shot her wedding in 2002 on all 35mm film.
I've always thought of Claudia & Erik as simply a great couple from the northwest side. A blend of both classic and modern, which I think really came through during their Wit Hotel Chicago wedding. The weather can start to be a challenge in late October, but their day was simply stunning. One thing I love about fall weddings in the city is the variety of light I get to work with. The collection of locations we photographed at was a perfect blend of both urban and natural. We started on the roof of The Wit, used both urban and iconic backdrops around the Chicago Theater, and then made our way to Milton Olive Park, which has stunning views of the skyline and fall colors. The ceremony and reception had energy and heart, and I cannot thank the couple enough for allowing me to be a witness. I wish them the best!
