New Year's Eve Thompson Chicago Wedding - Jowita & Robert

Oddly enough, Jowita & Robert's wedding at Nico Osteria inside the Thompson Chicago was the first New Year's Eve event I've photographed. Jowita works in the wedding industry, and we first met at Thursday Therapy, a wedding networking event. Both her and Robert are incredibly gracious and were a ton of fun to work with throughout the entire process. Their intimate wedding at the Thompson was absolutely beautiful (thanks in large part to Allison Denny at Stems, Ann Beteta from Nico Osteria, and Whitney Dang from the Thompson). There were a couple of unique personal elements that I have to mention. For one, Jowita is a former Windy City Roller. Her and a couple of former teammates threw on their skates for an outstanding portrait at the upstairs bar. Secondly, Robert is the owner of a few funeral homes in Chicago. Their casket shaped cake (done by Bittersweet) was drop-dead hilarious (no pun intended). I have to say photographing Jowita & Robert was the perfect end to my 2016 wedding season. I wish them both all the best!
