About the couple

After photographing Melanie and Seth’s engagement session, I had a feeling their Loews Chicago Hotel wedding was going to be filled with the best energy. I had the pleasure of photographing Seth’s sister’s wedding, so getting to see familiar faces is always fun. Not to mention the couple has great chemistry, they love to laugh, and being a little goofy with one another comes naturally.. As a photographer, this all makes for great moments throughout the day.

Photographing a Loews Chicago Hotel wedding

They chose the Loews Chicago Hotel as their venue for the 2nd floor terrace with amazing views of downtown Chicago. It was a close call, but we photographed their first look outside amongst the buildings, right before the clouds and pouring rain moved in. Unfortunately the ceremony was moved indoors, but it was still as beautiful as ever. Tall pink, red, and white floral designs lined the aisle with candlelight leading to the stunning chuppah. Between the design and these two exchanging their vows, the ceremony was perfect. Fortunately the storm quickly passed, allowing for cocktail hour to be held outside. Guests had a fantastic time, and we even got to photograph the couple outside again, which are some of their favorite photos.

Melanie and Seth have such deep love for their family and friends, so for them, this day was really about bringing everyone together. I’m so happy they trusted me to capture these special moments. Truly was such a great day!
