Fourth Presbyterian Church Wedding Ceremony
I had an absolute blast photographing Meghan & Chris’ winter wedding at Fourth Presbyterian and the Mid America Club. Such a classic Chicago wedding, filled with energy, emotion, and endless fun moments. Fourth Presbyterian is an iconic church in the city, and one of my favorites. Not just for the interior architecture, but also the historic courtyard just off Michigan Avenue.
After finishing up photos outside the church, we stopped by the Chicago Theater. If you’re hosting a late fall or winter wedding, this is a perfect location for night wedding party photos (see above). I don’t do this often, but I couldn’t help but photoshop their names onto the marquee (see below). Also, a tip for any future wedding party members….. make a stop at Chick-fil-A. It was a huge hit.
Mid American Club Wedding Reception
Their wedding reception at the Mid America Club was of course beautiful. Their staff does an amazing job. It was a also one heck of a party. Two things stood out for me. For one, the best men gave Meghan a copy of the street sign from where they grew up with Chris. It was a way to welcome her to their friend group, which I found incredibly touching.
Special wedding day moments
The other was a special set of dances with the bride. Meghan’s father had passed away some time ago. So in place of a father-daughter dance, she danced with five of the most important men in her life (grandfather, uncles and of course her brother). I was told about it in advance, but I wasn’t sure what to expect. By far one of the best wedding events I got to photograph in 2018. The photos speak for themselves. They brought down the house, and it was a fantastic way to open the dance floor, and at the same time honor her father.
I cannot thank Meghan & Chris enough! As always, a huge thank you to Kelly of Clementine Custom Events for introducing me to the couple!
