There were many elements that made Laura & Chris' wedding day simply perfect. First, they're the kind of people who have a wonderful way of blending class with playful goofiness. It made them truly fun to photograph and simply be around. We started the day off at the Thompson Chicago for their first look and initial portraits. This hotel is an outstanding location for photo shoots, with a wide array of modern yet eclectic backdrops. From there we made our way through Chicago's Gold Coast, on a near ideal August day in the city. The light at that time was just awesome to work with. We then ended up at the Chicago History Museum for the ceremony and reception. I've photographed at this venue several times, and it's one of the city's best. This doesn't happen often, but the couple was absolutely up for night portraits on the museum steps (last photo). Once the party gets going, it's tough the pull the couple away from their guests, but I'm so grateful they made it happen. Thank you to Laura & Chris for being who they are, and making their wedding day perfect!
Special thanks to Melissa Samek of Clementine Custom Events for introducing me to the couple, and for all her hard work!
